 Bob Engel is the Recipient of the 2009 SWF Volunteer of the Year Award
Bob has held a number of positions in procurement and supply management, including staff development, training and procurement
for major companies and established a company that has been one of the most successful in its field.
Bob has been active on the national, affiliate and groups and forums level.
He has been involved in the organization and presentation of the Conference since the beginning of the Forum.
Specific accomplishments and contributions to the profession include:
• Member of the University of Houston’s Advisory Board for Supply Management Program
• Board member of the Chemicals Group
• Served on the “ad hoc” committee to transform and streamline the organization and governance of the Southwest Forum
• Presented Workshops and Pre-Conference Seminars at the ISM Leadership Training program since 2006.
• Has presented at the ISM International Conference since 2005.
• Has presented at the European IPM since 2006.
• Presented pre-conference seminars and workshops at the Southwest Supply Management Conference each year since 2003.
• Organized and managed the Southwest forum golf outing since 2003 raising significant revenue for our educational programs
• Travelled to local affiliates to present dinner programs at no cost to the affiliate.
Bob was a co-founder of the Procurement Centre, now known as Resources Global Professionals, a company that specializes in staffing,
project services and training for supply chain organizations.
Bob is married to Sandy, and enjoys being a father and grandfather.
