November Issue 2011  Elton Brock , MBA, CTPM, CTCM, C.P.M.,is the Recipient of the 2011 SWF Volunteer of the Year AwardTo be selected as VOY one must have shown merit by performance that substantially exceeds expectations and sets standards of excellence and continuous service. Nominees must have significant accomplishments in not only their work environment but also in the volunteer activities for the Forum. The caliber of the professionals in the Forum is extremely high and Elton was selected from several very strong nominations. Elton Brock strives to make sure everyone gains value from the Institute for Supply Management’s (ISM) educational offerings. He coordinates relevant educational topics and speakers that support the vision and mission of ISM. He ensures that Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) can be earned at programs that include speakers from ISM’s International Conference, and various educational seminars across the US. Brock makes himself available to students and peers, and donates his time and talents to further the profession and help other volunteers grow. Elton has served within two ISM Affiliates for many years, last serving as the President of ISM-Austin. Elton also is the current Chair of ISM’s Southwest Forum, and previously served as Vice-Chair and Education Director. In 2010, Elton received ISM’s Educational Person of the Year Award, in recognition of his outstanding achievement and dedicated service to the Institute for Supply Management. |
