THE COSGROVE AWARD

In 1955 – The HAROLD M. COSGROVE OUTSTANDING PURCHASING MANAGEMENT AWARD was established by District II of the Purchasing Management Association. This award was established to recognize outstanding service by an individual to the profession. Its appreciative recognition of individual accomplishment spotlighted years of dedicated and exemplary service and volunteer spirit. The Award, named for Harold M. Cosgrove, Secretary for many years and long time volunteer of the Tulsa affiliate, was first presented in 1956 and has been awarded for 51 consecutive years.

Several years ago, ISM abolished their District structure. At that time, rather than letting the history of the Southwest region die, the Southwest Forum was established to allow us to continue the presentation of our annual conference. Many changes have resulted from that decision and one of those changes was to retire the Cosgrove award and replace it with one that more closely recognizes and defines where we are as a group today.
Our new award recognizes annually one member who has demonstrated outstanding value to the ISM Southwest Forum through dedicated and continuous and service as a Volunteer for Forum activities.
